To the Athlete:
• Swimmers on the pool deck 10 minutes prior to the start of training. This is to allow time for preparation of equipment and stretching.
• * Swimmers to bring the following equipment to training: drink bottle, fins, googles, pull buoy and kickboard. Please see our head coach if you need assistance with borrowing/obtaining these items.
• * Swimmers must wear their Aquajets uniform to competitions. Please see our head coach to obtain a uniform, if you have an upcoming competition/ targeted meet
• Swimmers to follow the directions of their coach and the safety rules of the pool venue
To the Parent/Guardian:
• Please notify coaches of any injuries your child/ren has prior to training session.
• Info is to come about club PB challenges (and club fundraisers if you wish to participate)
• If you need to speak to your child/ren’s coach, we will kindly ask to please do this either prior/post training session (just to help minimise disruption).
Targeted Meets
*There will be a series of targeted meets that your child can participate in if they qualify. Entry into the targeted meets is done online through Swimming Victoria: https://vic.swimming.org.au/calendar.html
*It is also recommended that you download the MeetMobile app. You will be able to access your child/ren’s events, times and
pb’s through this app. Discuss with your child/ren’s coach prior entering into a targeted meet, then they will guide you on which
events they should be swimming.
*On competition day we recommend bringing spare towel, spare cap, spare googles and spare bathers.
*Plan your arrival to be within 10 minutes of warm up time for swimmers. Warm up is an important part of your child/ren’s race day as it allows them to adjust to pool temperature and warm up their body to avoid injury.
*Programs for the meet will usually be available electronically two days prior to the event. Swimmers will need to know their event, heat and lane numbers for each race.
*It is important that swimmers bring lots of water and food so they can rehydrated /restore energy levels throughout the day.
As a Swimming Club we aim to promote a positive, professional, team spirited, respectful, courteous and safe sports environment. All coaches, volunteers, members and visitors, are reminded to play our small important part in this. There is info online at playbytherules.net.au about how we can all help to keep
Australian sport inclusive, safe and fair. Let’s adhere to our pool safety signs, note the life guards on duty, as well as the terms and conditions of entry to our training venue outlined on the TRAC website trac@activewhittlesea.com.au which we endorse. This all applies to us at events we attend outside of our
training venue also. Thanks in advance.
